Akhilesh Yadav Questions Government on Investor Summit, Kumbh Management

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav held a press conference, accompanied by senior SP leader and National General Secretary Shivpal Yadav and SP leader from Maharashtra, Abu Asim Azmi. The event was marked by significant discussions on various issues, including the investor summit, Kumbh Mela management, and law enforcement concerns in Uttar Pradesh.

Inauguration of Literary Honor Program

Akhilesh Yadav inaugurated the prestigious national literary honor program by lighting a ceremonial lamp. The event, organized by the Charage Dair institution, honored senior SP leader and distinguished poet Uday Pratap Singh. Expressing his gratitude, Yadav praised Charage Dair for recognizing Singh’s contributions, highlighting that Singh had been a mentor to his father, Mulayam Singh Yadav, in both education and politics.

Investor Summit: Lack of Implementation in Uttar Pradesh

During the conference, Akhilesh Yadav raised concerns about the much-hyped Investor Summit, questioning its effectiveness. He pointed out that despite agreements being signed at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), investments have not materialized in Uttar Pradesh. Yadav criticized the government’s failure to translate commitments into tangible economic growth in the state.

Issues Regarding Kumbh Mela Management

Yadav also addressed concerns about the ongoing Kumbh Mela, stating that elderly citizens aged 60-65 years have not yet been able to take a holy dip. He urged the government to extend the duration of the Kumbh to ensure better accessibility and participation.

Manish Agarwal’s Arrest and Allegations Against Police

Speaking on the arrest of Manish Agarwal, Yadav remarked that Agarwal had been appointed as the national president of traders, actively voicing the concerns of the business community. He criticized the state government for its handling of the case and alleged that the administration is targeting political opponents unfairly.

Yadav also accused the police of working under the influence of the ruling BJP, stating, “The police should remove their uniforms and wear BJP caps instead.” He further expressed concerns over the lack of action against BJP’s social media units despite FIRs being filed against them for objectionable content.

Government’s Claims on Kumbh Preparations Questioned

Questioning the state government’s claims that arrangements had been made for 100 crore people during the Kumbh, Yadav alleged that even a few crores could not be properly managed. He pointed out reports of stampedes and casualties, stating that the government lacks clarity on the number of people who have died during the event.

With these statements, Akhilesh Yadav once again positioned himself as a strong critic of the current administration, raising issues concerning governance, public safety, and political fairness.
